Worship Services in our Benefice

What we offer

We endeavour to ensure continuity of worship in each parish, mostly at a regular time for each parish. Our services range from informal to traditional. We are first and foremost, however, village churches with 'fuzzy edges' seeking to be welcoming to all and our pattern of worship reflects this.

Within the Earsham Benefice we run a wide variety of different services appealing to a range of ages and tastes from the more traditional to the slightly more charismatic as well as informal services for those exploring their faith or new Christians.

Different churches have slightly different feels.  Children and new worshipers are welcome at all our services, though some services might suit better than others.   

Broome has a robed choir with sung responses. At Denton we share the services with the Methodist and URC Ministers. Hedenham has choral evensong.   In none of our churches do people have their own pews that they must always sit in.

All services have music provided either by an organist, a music group or mp3 music device.

A three-monthly rota is organised by the Rector and the Ministry Team.  In order to emphasis teamwork we try to ensure a leader and assistant at each service. We have some Lay Assistants who have been authorised by their PCC's to assist in this way and have been trained by the Rector. There is a central preaching plan organised by the Rector that is the same in all the churches to ensure continuity of teaching and preaching.

Our Services each week

  5th Sunday

A service for all the Benefice is held at 10am in one of our Benefice Churches
